The Pitch
7 Cities · 4 Continents · 32 Events
One global idea. Seven cities. An operating system built to make it possible.
Overview
The Pitch was a global startup investment and brand platform delivered across seven international cities and four continents - bringing together founders, investors, partners and the wider startup ecosystem.
Founders, investors, partners and local startup ecosystems came together through a connected series of regional experiences, culminating in a Global Finale at Place Vendôme in Paris.
But behind the experience was another challenge: how do you deliver a program of this complexity across markets, teams, partners and time zones - while still making it feel like one connected global experience?
The answer became an operating system.

The Brief
Create a global platform that strengthened Deel's presence within the startup ecosystem, supported emerging companies and could operate consistently across multiple international markets without losing local relevance.
The experience needed to work at two levels.
Globally
One recognizable concept, participant journey and standard of experience.
Locally
Enough flexibility for each city, venue and startup ecosystem to bring the program to life in a way that felt relevant.
The challenge wasn't simply producing multiple events. It was creating a model capable of delivering them consistently at global scale.
The challenge
How do you scale the experience without scaling the chaos?
The Pitch was not one event replicated several times.
The program connected regional events and surrounding activations with founders, judges, partners, venues, communications and multiple teams operating across different markets and time zones.
As the complexity increased, managing each city as an entirely independent event stopped making sense. A different operating model was needed.
The shift
From city ownership to system ownership.
Instead of building each city independently, the program moved toward shared global systems, repeatable workflows and clearer functional ownership.
The goal wasn't to make every event identical. It was to standardize the complexity behind the scenes so the experience could remain flexible in front of the audience.
The operating system
The foundations that allowed the program to operate globally.
Standardize
Create repeatable foundations across markets — from briefs and production processes to common ways of working.
Centralize
Create shared sources of truth connecting teams, timelines, information and program decisions.
Automate
Use technology and AI to reduce repetitive operational work and increase the capacity of a lean global team.
Localize
Keep the global foundations consistent while giving each market enough flexibility to make the experience locally relevant.
Evolve
Learn from each event and continuously improve the system as the program moved from city to city.
The global journey
The global journey.
One global program, brought to life across different cities, cultures and startup ecosystems.

Global → Local
One system. Different cities.
The global foundations stayed consistent, but the experience could flex by market - allowing venue, audience, partners and local context to shape how the program came to life.
The goal wasn't to make every event identical. It was to make every event feel unmistakably part of the same global program.

Grand Finale
Place Vendôme · Paris
After a journey spanning seven cities and four continents, The Pitch returned to Paris for its Global Finale at Place Vendôme.
The finale brought the global program together for its final chapter - culminating the journey in the city where it began.
What it proved
Scale doesn't come from adding more people. It comes from building better systems.
The Pitch became the catalyst for a different way of thinking about global event operations - standardizing what should repeat, centralizing what teams need, automating repetitive work and protecting the flexibility required to create locally relevant experiences.
The experience ultimately informed the thinking behind eventOS and the keynote Global Events Aren't Scalable - Until You Build the Right Operating System.
